The Road to Forever

One of the pre-requisites of a safe trip is a good driver. Through the years, he will be an experienced one. But no matter how good a driver is, there are other factors that may hinder a gratifying jaunt. But because he is good, he will always be ready to start the engine and count another trip.
Mr. Jepane Pineda’s journey started since his youthful. Kuya Pane, as they call him, has become an experienced one with people whom he came across with. His father was his first mentor. He fueled Kuya Pane’s trip on maintaining their business.
It was never realized until after college that he would be inheriting a pig farm operated by his late father. Jun, as others call him, earned experience on breeding gilts and sows with the natural way. “Elem pa lang ako, meron na kaming gantong business pero nung nag high school ako nung makatulong ng tatay ko”
Kuya Pane shares.
Jun was an all-around helper to his father. He used to ride with him to their clients. During that time, artificial insemination was not yet accepted by the many. Natural mating was preferred by pig farmers earning them a living. With the traditional way of breeding animals, their trip was able to go far. Kuya Pane lives in Cabanatuan City in Nueva Ecija, in the house invested solely by boar-for-hire.
Kuya Pane’s father was an excellent driver. From merely just riding in, Kuya Pane turned a good driver over the years. Being in the route of pig farming, he became a hands-on son. It was in 2007 when he started to maintain the business he succeeded.
It was also in 2007 when artificial insemination started to boom in the province of Nueva Ecija. Just like automobiles, several types of models are designed according to trend.
Having this transition on pig farming, Kuya Pane was able to keep up with the trend. It was his best choice to attend the National Course on Swine Artificial Insemination in ITCPH. This was Kuya Pane’s first encounter on collecting boar semen and serving gilts.
Acquiring a full understanding on the science of artificial insemination and conception, Kuya Pane started to change gear. From driving boars, Kuya Pane safely drives now with vials of semen on a motorcycle. Aside from this, he maintains the satisfaction of his father’s clients.
On an average, Kuya Pane serves up to three gilts and sows in a day. He is able to attain an 85 to 95 percentage farrowing rate. “Sabi nga nila, hindi ako madamot”
he narrates. He makes sure that he provides the best service and theory whenever something has to be scientifically explained.
But it was a long ride before Kuya Pane got the hearts and trust of the traditional pig farmers. “Matagal din ako nanligaw sa mga magbababoy na mag AI”
uttered Kuya Pane. After all, it was ITCPH that made him a confident AI technician and his father who trained him a pig farmer.
In 2014, he started to use a small space in their house for making extended boar semen. It took him seven years on grasping the engine parts. Today, he enjoys a smooth drive knowing that he is equipped with the right knowledge and skills on artificial insemination.
From crossing roads from natural to AI, Kuya Pane will forever be trusted by pig farmers, because he ensures that they can ride a safe trip with him.
Are you a good driver? If not, would you like to ride in first?
